Well, at first I had the impression of some kind of battle ship in your picture and a lot of things came to my mind at once. Like all the 80s stuff on TV - "The Final Countdown" (1980), w. M. Douglas - a certain cartoon series where battle ships flying in space and shooting each other - "Battlestar Galactica" - "Captain Future" .... And some feeling about this whole time - building LEGO starships ... - I just can't describe it better. Maybe some impression of the idea "lost", that somehow was kind of present at that time. ;)
